Jamie Botsch (he/him)
Credentials: PhD Student - Ives Lab
I study how interactions between midges and algae vary across space and time and how this variability shapes population dynamics and ecosystem processes.
Why did you decide to pursue a graduate degree in iBio?
After graduation, I spent several summers conducting field research in Iceland with my now advisor, Tony Ives, and his graduate students. I loved the research, and working with Tony and his students. Upon visiting campus, I found that many of the qualities I admired in Tony and his students were encouraged by the department. I wanted to be in an environment that is as supportive of students, faculty, and their research as iBio is.
Why or what do you love about the program?
BS in Environmental Sciences from Emory University (2016)
