How do I schedule an appointment with an advisor for the Zoology, Neurobiology, or Molecular and Cell Biology majors?

Advisors in the Department of Integrative Biology are available for advising appointments.

Use Starfish to schedule an appointment time to meet with an advisor.

For virtual appointments, you can download Microsoft Teams and open the program in advance of your appointment time. You may receive a notification inviting you to “join the meeting” or may receive a call directly from your advisor when your appointment begins. If you have questions about scheduling an appointment or using Microsoft Teams, email your advisor directly.

For in person appointments masks are required.  If you are feeling ill or have been exposed to Covid and still feel well enough to meet, please contact your advisor to switch to a virtual appointment.

I need permission to enroll in a Zoology course (e.g. Zoology 152). Whom should I contact?

I’m on a course waitlist, can I know my position?

If you are currently on the waitlist for a Zoology course, please be patient. You will be notified by email if you are given the opportunity to enroll. We will not be informing students of their position on the waitlist. It is important to note that the waitlist is not a guarantee for enrollment.

Course Search and Enroll App says there are open seats, but I am unable to enroll. Why can’t I enroll?

At times, the Course Search & Enroll App may display a course with open seats but won’t allow you to enroll. If there are already students on the waitlist for this course, these open seats are being given to students already on the waitlist. If you want to be considered for enrollment, you will need to join the waitlist for the course.

I have been authorized to enroll in a course, but my enrollment cart still shows an error. What do I do?

You can now select one or many courses in your cart and trigger a revalidation to check prerequisites without having to remove and re-add the course to the cart or lock/unlock sections. To revalidate a course so that the authorization will work, select the course in your cart and then select “revalidate”.

I still have questions about enrolling in a course in the Department of Integrative Biology. Whom should I contact?

Please be patient while waiting for a response from an advisor as we are receiving a high volume of emails during enrollment time.

If you still have questions about enrollment or a waitlist for a Zoology course, please email waitlist@zoology.wisc.edu Be sure to include your campus ID number and all relevant course information.
