Student hourly, independent research credit students (i.e. 199, 299 & 699), and Teaching Assistants will be given access to individual key box codes and outdoor key pad codes instead of being assigned keys. These codes are changed at the end of each semester. Students will receive the key code details from their Department of Integrative Biology faculty/staff member. Contact Duane Barnes (dfbarnes@wisc.edu) if you need a key box installed outside of your lab/office.
Students needing key access to department space, such as labs, must have authorization from their major faculty or staff. Approving faculty should email Duane Barnes (dfbarnes@wisc.edu) with the name of new lab member and list of authorized keys. A deposit card will be created for the student to take to the Bursar’s office (333 E. Campus Mall, 10th floor) to pay the $10/per key deposit (cash only). Once the student returns the stamped “paid” deposit card to the department office, keys will be issued. Students will return keys when no longer needed and can collect their key deposit funds.
